"I walked into Spin City in December of 2008 pretty much
at the end of my rope physically. After all, I was a 44-year-old man
carrying around too much weight. Sure, I've always been able to hide my
extra weight well with good work clothes, but there were other problems
as well.
I ran the Boston Marathon in 2000 and paid a heavy price. I screwed up
my right hip and hamstring badly. After Boston, I would only be able to
run/train for a month at most before I would have to stop due to the
pain.
I was as frustrated as can be.
Now, I'm a guy that hates your average health club. Since I don't have
that "cut, trim body-builder look", I've just never felt comfortable
working out with the masses.
From the moment I walked into Spin City I felt at ease. Dan Fyfe sat me
down and went over my past health problems, concerns, goals, and and
needs. And, perhaps the best part of what we did was address my hip and
hamstring problems before doing anything else. For the first time, I
was fixed and only then did I begin working out. We took things slowly.
I also combined Spin City's unique way of spinning to round myself into
better shape. When I tell people I spin, they give me that look that
many of you know as normally you either love or hate it with no
in-betweens. However, at Spin City I've never felt like I was spinning.
I feel that I'm getting in an awesome cardiovascular workout with the
stress on my knees, hips, hamstrings, etc.
My other problem is that any time I joined a health club in the past I
would be excited about it for a month or two, but would eventually stop
going. It just never felt right. Meanwhile, I've been consistently
going to Spin City for a full year. And when I can't go for any period
of time due to my work schedule or vacation, I can't wait to go back.
Lastly, Spin City has good people. You feel like you're part of a
team....not a piece of meat. In fact, that's one of the best things
about the place. Everyone's into their workout routine or spin.
Everyone worries about what or how they are working out that there's
none of that "stand around and look at me while I look at you stuff"
that you see at the bigger health clubs. In other words, you never feel
bad about how you look.
It's changed my outlook on working out and it's helped make my life a
whole lot better."

stay fit, with the best intentions. I did that for years, walking and
jogging on my own, trying memberships at different health clubs, and

"Dan teaches the best spin class I have ever been to. I
have gone to many other classes only to be disappointed. He has a style
and intensity unlike most instructors, and that style and intensity has
been inherited by his colleagues and clients at SpinCity. I never feel
like he is teaching a class just to benefit his own fitness unlike a
lot of instructors out there. He is constantly getting off his bike and
addressing individuals in the class to provide personalized
instruction. He always creates the perfect atmosphere to drive your
motivation. The music is great and the classes give enough variety to
keep you interested and constantly challenge you. I have seen many of
